the mallet & youth ministry
tomorrow i get to speak at the parkview church high school chapel service. it's the first time i've done it this school year (which is much later than normal because i would usually have spoken once or twice by now). i'm speaking on the "herem" of joshua 6 & 7 - those items that we devoted to the LORD for destruction. for the fun of it i am going to kick into my best gallagher imitation and have fun with a sledge-o-matic.
thus i spent the afternoon making my own personal sledge-o-matic (which i have named "smashie") and buying stuff to smash. tomorrow during chapel i will spray everyone with small piece of fruit (apples, oranges, and a small watermelon).
youth ministry is the greatest.

Great illustration! It will leave a great lasting impression on all the students. When I was in school a minister came and spoke to us about what kind of impact we will make and then used different sized hammers to smash stuff. I have never forgotten that. Have fun with "smashie".

That's awesome. One time for a jr high night we had "bring what you want smashed" Sledge-O-Matic night. Very funny, stupid night.
